What you’ll be doing

As a member of the Third Party Governance Office (TPGO), the Consultant, Third-Party Data Governance plays a critical role for ensuring effective data governance practices. This position focuses on maintaining TPGO’s data service agreements (DSA), critical data elements (CDEs), and performing overall data governance activities to enhance data quality and compliance across TPGO systems.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How you’ll succeed

  • Focus on Innovation and Simplification. Strive for continual enhancement of data quality and contribute to system and governance process simplification.

  • Data Governance. Ensure compliance with data stewardship, data ownership, and data dictionary definitions for all TPGO systems, including performing metric deconstructions maintaining an inventory of critical data elements(CDEs). Conduct assessments to ensure adherence to data governance policies and procedures.  Act as a liaison between various teams in TPGO to promote a culture of data stewardship and accountability.

  • Data Sharing Agreements. Collaborate with data requestors to understand their needs and identify necessary data fields for data service agreements (DSA) and ensure ongoing compliance with governance standards.

  • Curious and Creative. We are looking for someone who is curious and creative, someone who is innovative and likes to try new concepts, as well as interpret themes and insights, and design an experience that makes complex insights more intuitive.

  • Stay Current with Best Practices. Our team constantly looks for ways to improve user experience and insights consumption, staying up to date with industry best practices in data governance.

Who you are

  • You have demonstrated experience in Data Analysis tools (Microsoft Power BI, Advanced Microsoft Excel). You have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience Data Governance frameworks and best practices and/or Risk Management. 

  • You have a degree/diploma in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and/or a related field of study.

  • You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
