Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Data Science / Artificial Intelligence Engineer (f/m) to join our Aircraft Control Integration Department based in Toulouse, France.

You will join a team of around ten people within the « Aircraft Control Integration » Department, especially in charge of preparing the modelisation and simulation tools and methods required for the development of an aircraft, a complex and high technology product, while considering all aspects related to safety and certification. The aforementioned team also covers the technical expertise required for the Digital transformation of Airbus, including the Artificial Intelligence (AI) related applications for ensuring the aircraft control.

AI is a very fast evolving technical field that has experienced a very rapid growth over the last ten years. It will become a key technological brick for Airbus Engineering. Airbus has initiated a significant transformation for several years now which aimed at placing AI at the heart of our business. Your mission will consist in accompanying the teams within the department, and in the System Center of Competence in general, in order to adopt and deploy this key technological brick in our daily aircraft design activities.

Your challenges:

• Understand the difficulties and limitations in the current aircraft development cycle, including Avionics Systems.

• identify, in accordance with the business teams, the main blocking points that you will have to address.

• In particular, identify the main AI-based solutions (Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI, time series analysis…) that could help solve the identified business problems.

• Develop and deploy the most relevant AI solutions

• Contribute to develop dedicated tools and to improve the Flight Control System product development.

• Contribute to develop AI skills and competencies within the Department, and beyond.

Your boarding pass:

• A strong background in the field of Systems Engineering, with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence or in Data Science.

• Min 5 years of professional experience in Production environment 

• A first experience in an industrial context that allowed you to deal with typical industrial challenges

• A deep interest in Mathematics, Data Science and AI

• A good knowledge of the main AI techniques (Machine Learning, NLP, Generative AI (LLM), time series analysis…).

• Basic knowledge of aircraft systems, especially Avionics systems, would be an advantage.

• Programming Languages (Python, R, Tensor Flow, Keras…), development platforms (AWS, Knime, GitHub, MongoDB…) and Large Langages Models (LLM).

• Advances level of English and French
