We're seeking an Analytics Engineer who will play a crucial role in our data transformation strategy. In this position, you'll develop the data models that serve as the foundation for our business intelligence and self-serve analytics capabilities. This role is central to our strategy of building a more data-literate organization where insights are accessible to everyone who needs them.
- Your primary responsibility will be designing, building, and maintaining dbt models that transform raw data (especially from our product analytics stack) into accessible, reliable insights.
- You'll work directly with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs, then translate those requirements into well-structured data models and intuitive dashboards that drive decision-making.
- Develop reports and visualizations in our BI tooling (currently Looker) that provide actionable insights for stakeholders
- Help establish and maintain data quality standards and documentation
- Identify areas where poor data quality indicates unclear business processes and recommend improvements
- Contribute to our growing self-serve analytics capabilities by creating reusable, well-documented data assets
- Help upskill business users in data literacy and tool usage
What You Need to Succeed
- Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling concepts
- Proficiency with software development practices, including Git, code review, and CI/CD
- Comfort with command line interfaces (CLI) and developer workflows
- Ability to translate business requirements into data models and analytics solutions
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent work experience desired)
Bonus Point: Experience working with product analytics data and tools, particularly Segment
What you Bring to the Table
- 5+ Years of experience with dbt (data build tool) or similar data transformation frameworks
- Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses
Experience with Amplitude, Segment, or similar product analytics platforms
- Knowledge of Jira or similar project tracking tools
- Previous work in a business intelligence or analytics role
- Experience with visualization tools and dashboard design
- Understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts
