As we grow, we're looking for a Data Analyst to take the lead on analytical work that helps teams across the business make better, data-informed decisions.
In this role, you’ll own analysis projects from start to finish, build clear and useful reports and dashboards, help prioritise analytics work and support the development of our internal data tools and infrastructure. You’ll also play a key part in improving data literacy across the company.
It’s a hands-on, cross-functional role where you’ll collaborate with people across commercial, product, scientific and technical teams and have the chance to shape how data is used across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Leading data analysis: Take the lead on analysis projects from scoping to delivery, supporting teams across the business, including commercial, product, science, operations and finance.
Managing analytics priorities: Work with different teams to understand their data needs, help set priorities and keep things aligned with overall business goals.
Building reports and dashboards: Develop internal reporting processes and build insightful dashboards using modern visualisation tools to give teams the information they need, when they need it.
Championing data literacy and best practice: Help colleagues across the business feel confident using data by sharing knowledge, offering support and establishing best practices in data analysis.
Improving data infrastructure: Work with the data engineering team to build and maintain robust, well-structured data pipelines and help shape our internal data tools by promoting good practices around data quality, documentation and automation.
Collaborating with data science and machine learning team: Support exploratory data analysis to help validate hypotheses and inform the delivery of NatureMetrics' AI and machine learning roadmap.We’re looking for someone who’s curious, thrives in a collaborative, cross functional environment, and has a genuine interest in how businesses operate and how data can be used to make better decisions.
You will bring:
- Prior experience as a data analyst working independently within a commercial organisation.
- Proficiency in using SQL and Python for data analysis.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
- Familiarity with modern data visualisation tools (e.g. Looker, Metabase, Power BI or similar).
- Knowledge of software development best practices such as version control (Git), code testing, and documentation.
- An understanding of data engineering workflows and principles (e.g. modelling data assets, data orchestration, ETL/ELT processes).
- Awareness of data science and machine learning workflows is desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas for diverse audiences.
- A collaborative mindset and a desire to work cross-functionally across a purpose-driven business.
- Experience working with software as a service (SaaS) products.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics, life sciences or geospatial data.
- Experience with CRM or ERP systems.
