We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join our growing Content Data team, with a dedicated focus on sports products such as VG Live, Målservice, Sportbladet, and Olympic Studio. These products are used by 2 million sport fans every week, generating over 50m weekly page views.
Based in Oslo, you'll transform raw data into actionable insights that shape sports coverage, work hand in hand with the product team building it, and identify new opportunities for growth. You will collaborate closely with editorial, advertising, and product teams to ensure decisions are data-informed, audience-focused, and strategically aligned.
What will you do in this role?
This is a high-impact role embedded in the content development organization, with a clear focus on sports. You will:
- Analyze user behavior and engagement across sports content platforms, identifying patterns and trends that can inform editorial and product decisions
- Build and maintain dashboards to track key metrics for live sports, event coverage, sports-related video/audio formats, and real-time engagement
- Work with and enable the product manager to use and adjust the dashboards, so that rapid and dynamic decisions can be more informed
- Deliver insights on viewer behavior, live sports coverage impact, ad performance, and subscription conversion driven by sports content
- Consolidate and standardize sports analytics across Schibsted brands to enable consistent performance evaluation and benchmarking
- Partner with commercial stakeholders to evaluate monetization strategies—including ad performance, paywalls, sponsorships, and conversion from sports content.
- Define and improve key metrics related to sports engagement, retention, and reach—e.g., loyal sessions during live coverage, match-day traffic, or streaming performance
- Act as a liaison between sports editors, product teams, and data engineering—translating business needs into data requirements and actionable insights
- Support self-service reporting and data literacy in sports-oriented teams
- Drive experimentation and measure performance of new formats, content experiences, or business models in the sports domain

We are looking for the following experience:
We are seeking a data analyst with a strong analytical mindset, solid technical foundation, and a passion for enabling insight-driven decisions. Specifically, you bring:
- A genuine interest in sports, and the ability to contextualize user behavior and KPIs within the fast-paced and varied sports landscape
- Experience (typically 3+ years) working with data analytics, ideally within sports content, media, or digital product environments.
- Strong SQL skills and familiarity with cloud-based analytical environments (e.g., Snowflake)
- Proficiency with visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Amplitude, Kilkaya).
- A sound understanding of experiment design and evaluation (e.g., A/B testing)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences
- Experience working in cross-functional teams with editorial, tech, and commercial stakeholders
- Competence in Python or R for exploratory analysis is a plus
