About the Role
This person will become a driving force in our Schooling team as the results-oriented Lead, Data Operations & Academic Analytics. This vital role within the Schooling Services Team will be at the forefront of reimagining our approach to schooling analytics, empowering the vertical to operate as a truly data-first organization. You will bring an entrepreneurial mindset coupled with a highly structured and analytical approach to unlock the power of our data.
Reporting to the Head, Academic Program Services, you will spearhead the strategic planning and execution of all data operations and academic analytics initiatives across our Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. You will be the go-to expert for any analytical project, collaborating closely with our central engineering and data analysis teams to develop and implement scalable solutions. This role is pivotal in supporting over 20,000 students in 57 schools by ensuring data-driven insights inform and elevate our academic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three Data Operations & Academic Analytics professionals, fostering their growth and maximizing their contributions.
Define the team's objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with the broader organizational goals.
Architect and champion the overarching data analysis and visualization strategy for the Schooling vertical, ensuring it meets current and future needs.
Drive the full lifecycle of strategic analytical projects from conception, planning, and execution to the delivery of actionable insights.
Develop and execute detailed plans for data analysis and data visualization projects, including methodology, timelines, and resource allocation.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all data used for analysis and reporting.
Communicate complex data insights and findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within data operations and analytical workflows.
Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and educational technology.
Serve as the primary point of contact and collaborate effectively with the central Engineering and Data Analysis teams.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business, STEM, related discipline)
7+ years of analytical experience with proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools, preference for Looker, with 3+ years in a people management role.
Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with familiarity on data integration processes and tools.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while juggling competing agendas.
Project Management: Proven program management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in education or publishing.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience guiding teams, driving alignment, and fostering a culture of accountability and ownership.
Process Improvement: Experience designing and improving workflows, tools, or platforms, with a focus on efficiency and excellence.
Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences and maintain professionalism in all interactions.

Compensation Range
: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
