Position Summary:
The Global Robotics and Physical AI leader will lead EY's next-generation robotics workstream, focusing on building and nurturing relationships with clients and external stakeholders in the robotics sector. This role exists to drive customer engagement, understand market needs, and position EY as a trusted advisor in the field of humanoid robots and physical AI. The director will be responsible for facilitating strategic conversations, identifying partnership opportunities, and promoting EY's robotics program to enhance client satisfaction and drive business growth. By leveraging industry insights and fostering collaboration, the director will play a key role in shaping EY's presence in the robotics landscape.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lead the development and execution of EY's robotics strategy, focusing on humanoid robots and physical AI applications.
- Drive customer conversations to understand their needs and identify opportunities for robotics solutions.
- Oversee a small team of robotics professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve project goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics solutions into existing services and offerings.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in robotics to inform strategic decisions and innovation initiatives.
- Represent EY at industry conferences and events to promote the robotics program and establish thought leadership.
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:
The Global Robotics and Physical AI leader will face challenges related to shifting the perception of EY as a leader in the robotics sector, particularly in an environment where the firm may be viewed as having limited involvement in this space. This includes addressing internal resistance to prioritizing robotics initiatives and fostering interest among other senior leaders. This role will need to navigate the complexities of maintaining relationships with existing audit clients in the robotics industry while promoting EY's capabilities in this area. Decisions will involve identifying strategic opportunities for engagement, crafting compelling narratives to elevate EY's profile in robotics, and recommending initiatives that align with both client needs and EY's broader business objectives.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Strong understanding of robotics, particularly humanoid robots and physical AI technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
- Proven leadership abilities to manage and inspire a team.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex challenges.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- A background in engineering, computer science, or a related field is advantageous.
Supervision Responsibilities:
The Global Robotics and Physical AI leader will operate with a high degree of independence, reporting directly to senior management. Regular supervisory contact will occur during strategic planning sessions and project reviews. The director will supervise a small team, responsible for assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and providing feedback to ensure team members meet their objectives.
Other Requirements:
- Frequent travel will be required for client meetings, industry events, and team collaboration.
- Flexibility in work hours may be necessary to accommodate global client needs and project deadlines.

Job Requirements:
Education:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related field; a Phd degree is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of senior leadership experience with a proven track record of driving client engagement and building strategic partnerships in the robotics or related technology sectors. Experience working with or advising clients in the robotics industry is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams, influencing organizational change, and navigating complex client relationships. Demonstrated success in elevating a firm's profile in emerging technologies and fostering a culture of innovation is essential.
Certification Requirements:
- Relevant certifications in robotics, project management, or innovation management are beneficial but not mandatory.

The compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary ranges.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $203,600 to $403,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $244,300 to $458,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
