This is a foundational role within a new initiative aimed at improving data quality and governance practices. You will be directly involved in operational support, data consistency efforts, and quality control, contributing to the creation of a scalable, real-time data governance function.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, an interest in data governance, and a proactive mindset. You will play a critical part in shaping and sustaining data quality processes as the program evolves.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in a data-related role (internships or junior roles welcome).
  • Previous exposure to data governance, data quality, or data operations is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of the data governance program, including data modeling, assurance, and quality efforts.
  • Execute and monitor data quality tests, helping to identify inconsistencies and track their resolution.
  • Perform manual data updates (e.g., correcting formatting or naming inconsistencies).
  • Track task progress and generate basic reports on delays or issues in specific data domains.
  • Assist with data consistency exercises, running simple scripts, organizing results, and translating findings into business-friendly formats.
  • Provide basic project coordination, keeping tabs on ~16 concurrent initiatives and surfacing risks or delays.
  • Participate in regular team standups with stakeholders to report progress and raise concerns.

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of data management, data quality, and/or governance concepts.
  • Ability to use spreadsheets, shared folders, and data tools for organizing and analyzing output.
  • Familiarity with SQL or light scripting (nice to have, but not required).
  • Exposure to tools like Jira, Excel, or collaboration platforms is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with or supporting data governance or data operations teams.
  • Ability to review or suggest minor script improvements.
  • Knowledge of terminology and concepts related to data lifecycle and quality control.

Soft Skills

  • Conversational English proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Comfortable working on repetitive or operational tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Organized and consistent in tracking and following up on multiple workstreams.
  • Proactive communicator, able to report on blockers or progress clearly.
  • Capable of learning and adapting in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Willingness to do hands-on work (including data entry, test execution, and documentation).
