The Role:  Anaconda seeks a Senior Commercial Counsel to support a wide range of commercial deals and scale the Commercial Legal team’s reach. This role will report to the Head of Commercial Legal and is a fully remote opportunity, offering a fantastic opportunity to be an integral member of a small, rapidly scaling legal function of high impact.

What You Will Do:

• Provide high impact partnership and support to our revenue teams, including the commercial, mid-market and enterprise sales teams, the partner and channel-based revenue teams, the customer success team, and the professional services team.
• Directly negotiate a wide range of agreements, effectively helping to meet business objectives and close deals while managing potential risks.
• Refine our templates and build out our playbooks and other resources to accelerate deal closures, facilitate scalable legal processes, and track key operational and business metrics.
• Assist with strategic litigation, when and if necessary, regarding infringing use cases from existing users and prospective customers.
• Flex across various legal needs of a high-growth company, including working closely with our product, marketing, community relations, and similar teams, based on background and interest.
• Act as a strategic business partner, advising internal clients and leadership on legal matters critical to growth and innovation.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to more junior members of the Legal Team.

What You Need:

• JD or equivalent from an accredited law school and a license to practice in an applicable jurisdiction.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience.
• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and intellectual property licenses, including SaaS, partnership, professional services, and vendor agreements.
• Strong working knowledge of commercial law, intellectual property law, data protection regulations and other regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build trusted advisor relationships with internal clients.
• Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to translate complex issues into practical, actionable guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and drive resolution of open issues.
• Willingness to operate as an individual contributor  with the scrappy mentality needed to succeed in a high-growth company.

The US base salary range for this role is $180,000 ~ $270,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the range of target salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
