Schibsted Media is at a pivotal point in our strategy. After splitting the company up into two parts, Marketplaces (now Vend), and Media, we’re embarking with a new way of working in developing top of the line Media products that more than 6M people love every day.
At the heart of building products that people love is data - and we’re also changing how we work with data. We’re taking our next steps in building a modern data foundation that supports smarter personalization, user engagement, and monetization across our media brands, and are looking for a Data Product Owner to join our User Data team in Stockholm - someone who can help us define and deliver data products that bring deeper insight into how users behave, interact, and grow with us.
What will you do in this role?
As a Data Product Owner, you’ll help ensure that we build data products that are trustworthy, usable, and support measurable value across editorial, advertising, and product strategies.
You will:
- Lead the development of user-centric data products aligned with key goals like personalization, engagement, and retention.
- Translate strategic needs into clear, actionable tasks with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with data engineers, analysts, product managers, and editorial teams across brands.
- Shape current and future data products in areas like user engagement, segmentation, consent, experimentation, monetisation, and login.
- Ensure user data models are consistent across brands and enable use cases like front-page curation or paywall optimization
- Champion privacy-aware, high-quality data pipelines with good documentation and discoverability
- Drive demos, feedback sessions, and adoption across teams
- Collaborate with other Data Product Owners to ensure shared standards across the Schibsted data mesh

Who you are:
We think you are an experienced data or product management professional. You ideally have a background as a product owner/manager, analyst, data engineer, or similar - and you’re looking into taking your next steps in combining data with product management.
You think about data models and solutions as structured products that exist to delight your customers, and you understand that it is most valuable when it’s trusted, consistent, and actionable.
You’re an empathetic collaborator. You navigate comfortably across team- and business needs, prioritize solutions based on impact, and care deeply about turning data into actual value - whether that’s a smarter login flow, a better front page metric, or a well-targeted experiment.
What we're looking for
You have experience as a product owner, analyst, or data-savvy project manager, and you know what it takes to develop great data products in complex organizations.
- 3+ years in product management, data analytics, or a similar role
- Experience developing or owning data products such as segmentation, kpi dashboards, or experimentation pipelines
- Solid knowledge of customer lifecycle concepts and behavioral analytics.
- Proven ability working agile, to manage backlogs, and to translate complex needs into clear user stories together in a cross functional team
- Comfortable working across multiple brands and stakeholder groups (e.g., editorial, subscription, ads)
- Understanding of privacy-first data practices and event-driven data architecture
Experience in consumer-facing media, personalization platforms, and A/B testing frameworks is not required but a plus.
