Job Description

The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform (DAP) group is a key component of Visa's Technology organization that provides the enabling technology and processes to handle Visa's data assets and deliver valuable information, products, and services to customers. DAP delivers secure, high-quality and easy-to-use Visa core data assets as a service, together with reliable and scalable data platform as a service, to enable Visa and our partners to rapidly and efficiently innovate data-driven business products and services to lead the digital payment industry.

Areas of focus include Business Intelligence and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data as a Service, and Platform as a Service etc. The portfolio comprises of over 60 data products & platforms for various external clients and internal lines of business. We provide services on behalf of traditional bank customers to millions of cardholders and merchants globally. We are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing next generation data platforms to drive incremental revenue.

Essential Functions

• Strong technology and leadership background building enterprise scale applications using Java, Spring, REST APIs, RDBMS, and Angular or React.

• Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex products with significant bottom-line impact

• Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities that helps them succeed in their business goals.

• Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.

• Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high quality work on tight schedules.

• Project management: prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments

• Operational Excellence: monitoring and operation of production services

•  Identify opportunities for further enhancements and refinements to standards and processes.

• Mentor junior team members, develop departmental procedures and best practices standards.

• Hire and retain world class talents to deliver data platform projects.

• Strong Negotiation Skills: You will be a distinguished ambassador for product development, collaborating, negotiating, managing tradeoffs and evaluating opportunistic new ideas with business partners

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7
years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD,
MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work
experience.

Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer
engineering or related field required. Advanced degree preferred
•Requires 12+ years of experience, at least 3 of which were in leading
engineering teams
•Full Stack Software Development experience in large scale mission critical
applications.
•Mandatory experience with n-tier web application development and experience
in J2EE or other frameworks.
•Solid experience in frameworks like Spring or Spring Boot, Sprint MVC, JPA,
Hibernate.
•Expertise with RDBMS systems like SQL Server, Oracle or DB2 and NoSQL
databases like cassandra, mongoDB etc.
•Experience working on UI, Web development using Angular or React,
JavaScript, JQuery, and HTML CSS technologies is a plus.
•Hands on with GitHub Copilot is a plus.
•Proficient in API Development using SOAP or REST, JSON and XML.
•Proven experience delivering large scale, highly available production software.
•Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast paced environment
•A deep understanding of end-to-end software development in a team, and a
track record of shipping software on time
•Strong business and technical vision
•Payment processing background desirable but not required
•Experience working in an Agile and Test Driven Development environment.
•Leading a module or team and mentoring experience will be a plus.
•Excellent presentation, collaboration and communication skills required.
