Role Overview:
The Data Manager, directly reporting to the Finance Director, is responsible for leading the BI team, developing and implementing data strategies, driving analytics transformation and ensuring the integrity and security of company data. This role involves enabling the business to better leverage the value of data by analysing business data, providing actionable insights and benefiting from more data-driven decision making.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role based in our Olkusz office in Poland. Occasional travel, typically once per quarter may be required depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage business intelligence strategies to support organisational goals, including designing, configuring, and maintaining BI tools and systems
- Analyse business data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders through reports, dashboards, and other BI metrics
- Lead and develop a team of data analysts and BI professionals, providing training and support to BI resources and end users
- Work with various departments to gather and interpret business requirements, promoting data literacy and a data-driven culture across the company
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of company data, establishing the vision for managing data as a business asset and implementing data management processes and structures
- Support business insight, intelligence, and predictive analytics reporting capabilities that create real business value
- Forecast and plan projects, secure required resources, manage major incidents to minimise business impact, and stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in BI technology
- Manage 3rd parties and build strategic collaborations with external partners, organising and leading a data and analytics centre of excellence to improve the organisation’s capacity to develop insights with advanced analytics
Critical Competencies for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in a fast-paced international environment, including 5+ years leading a data and analytics organisation. Experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, with 1-3 years in a supervisory role
- Advanced business acumen and a passion for solving business problems with data and analytics
- Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and establish trust with internal stakeholders
- Adaptability to changing environments and transformation periods
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging across the organisation
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team with technical expertise in various data and business intelligence technologies, including proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL), knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling, experience with cloud-based BI solutions (AWS or Azure), and project management skills with ERP systems (Oracle or SAP)
