The Position

Are you a passionate Data Scientist and inspiring leader ready to drive change? Join Boehringer Ingelheim’s Central Data Science department as Head of Data X Academy, where you will lead the Data X Academy and play a key role in our digital transformation journey.   In this impactful role, you will enhance data literacy and AI skills across the organization, develop tailored training solutions, and empower teams to make smarter, data-driven decisions. Take ownership, collaborate with business units, and help shape the future of Boehringer Ingelheim through innovation and leadership.   You will be based in Ingelheim, Boehringer’s main site with high strategic importance.   This position has a hybrid setup with approximately 2 days per week on site.     If you can communicate clearly and persuasively and are ready to inspire a team to be greater, we want to hear from you. Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Leading your team, you will take full accountability for delivering meaningful and tailored training on Data and AI.
  • As the driving force behind the Data X Academy, you will ensure that all relevant Boehringer Ingelheim employees receive targeted and impactful training.
  • Your role will involve scouting and creating content, based on the latest data and AI trends, while establishing modern teaching methods and conducting international training events.
  • Fostering a thriving team culture, you will focus on people management and talent development.
  • Through community building and partnerships, you will manage data science networks and drive collaborations to stay ahead in the field.
  • Effective communication will be key, as you collaborate with internal management teams and represent Boehringer Ingelheim in external engagements.
  • By setting standards and driving innovation, you will shape the future of the organization with your ideas and initiatives

Requirements

  • Master's degree in data science, mathematics, physics, or (business- or bio-) informatics or comparable. An advanced scientific degree, such as a PhD, is highly desirable
  • Extensive experience in data science, with a deep understanding of organizational key processes. Proven track record of successfully leading international teams and delivering impactful results
  • Expertise in cutting-edge fields such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Science, and other advanced data science domains
  • Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and projects with strong project/product management skills. Experience in knowledge sharing and training, showcasing excellent didactic capabilities
  • A strategic mindset with a talent for analytical problem-solving and a meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly. Proficiency in German is an advantage
