Platform Architect

Location: Córdoba,Córdoba,Argentina

We are looking for an experienced Platform Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast paced environment, operate gracefully under stress, effectively manage multiple assignments, be self driven, proactive and have great interpersonal and communication skills.

As a Platform Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical foundation of our cybersecurity SaaS platform. You will be responsible for designing and implementing a scalable, reliable, and secure platform architecture that supports the development, deployment, and operation of our products and services. This role requires a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and software architecture principles, as well as a passion for creating elegant and efficient solutions to complex technical challenges.

Role & Responsibilities

Platform Architecture Design:

• Design and implement a scalable, high-performance platform architecture that meets the evolving needs of our cybersecurity SaaS applications.

• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools for the platform, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, reliability, and security.

• Create and maintain architectural blueprints, diagrams, and documentation to communicate the platform design to stakeholders.

Platform Engineering:

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure the platform meets their needs and supports efficient development and deployment processes.

• Develop and maintain core platform components and services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve platform issues.

Scalability and Performance Optimization:

• Design and implement strategies to ensure the platform can scale to meet growing demand.

• Optimize platform performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks.

• Evaluate and implement new technologies and techniques to improve scalability and performance.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement robust security measures to protect the platform and its data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards.

• Conduct regular security reviews and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.

Collaboration and Leadership:

• Collaborate effectively with engineering, product, and security teams to ensure the platform aligns with overall company goals and objectives.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers on platform architecture, design patterns, and best practices.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing, distributed systems, and cybersecurity.

Minimum qualifications

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering or infrastructure architecture.

• Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable and reliable platform architectures for SaaS applications.

• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with microservices architecture, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).

Skills:

• Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.

• Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash).

• Expertise in network protocols, security protocols, and system administration.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and prevention.

• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with cybersecurity products and technologies.

• Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).

• Knowledge of big data processing and analytics tools.

• Certifications in cloud computing or architecture (e.g., Google Cloud Certified Professional Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

• Experience with GCP architecture design and best practices (e.g., Well-Architected Framework)

• Knowledge of GCP cost optimization and resource management techniques

Software Architecture and Design

• Expert: Microservices architecture, domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architecture (EDA), API design (REST, GraphQL)

• Proficient: Design patterns, software architecture documentation (e.g., UML, C4 model)

• Bonus: Experience with service mesh (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) or API gateways (e.g., Apigee)

Containerization and Orchestration

• Expert: Docker, Kubernetes

• Advanced: Experience with Kubernetes networking (e.g., Calico, Cilium), storage (e.g., Ceph, Rook), and security (e.g., Pod Security Policies, Network Policies)

• Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes operators, Helm (Kubernetes package manager), or Knative (serverless platform)

Programming and Scripting

• Proficient: Go (Golang), Python, Bash (or other shell scripting)

• Bonus: Experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or other languages relevant for building platform components

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Expert: Terraform

• Proficient: Ansible, or similar configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet)

• Bonus: Experience with other IaC tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Pulumi)

Security

• Proficient: Security best practices for cloud infrastructure, application security (OWASP Top 10), network security, identity and access management

• Advanced: Experience with threat modeling, security audits, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR)

• Bonus: Experience with security scanning tools (e.g., Trivy, Clair) or security certifications (e.g., CISSP)

Monitoring and Observability

• Proficient: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or similar monitoring and logging tools

• Advanced: Experience designing and implementing monitoring and alerting strategies for distributed systems

• Bonus: Experience with distributed tracing (e.g., Jaeger, Zipkin), OpenTelemetry, or other observability tools
