About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to be part of a team that provides data integration and delivery for risk reporting. This Senior Software Engineer will use their database knowledge (Big data and MS SQL Server) to meet application architecture specifications, create data warehousing strategies, and will also play a key role in planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining the consolidated database environment. This Senior Software Engineer will work with systems of records, platform teams, and other database engineers to support and deliver for the shared database environment.  This person will also be responsible for managing underlying infrastructure needed for building and sustaining the database environment.

Additional responsibilities also include maintaining existing data model queries, performing enhancements as part of an Agile delivery team, delivering major/minor security fixes, data controls, and vulnerability remediation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments

  • Contribute to large scale planning of strategies

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments

  • Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures

  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients' needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals

  • Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive or AWS services

  • 4+ years of MS SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS experience

  • 4+ years of Logical and Physical Data Modeling experience

  • 4+ years of experience with end-to-end design and delivery of data warehouse applications

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data integration and ETL data load process

  • Experience working with scrum teams for defect free production releases

  • Experience with build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Harness, Liquibase)

  • GCP certification or advanced Cloud certification

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience with Agile Scrum ceremonies

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience developing and monitoring compliance with policy and standards, specifically around metadata

  • Experience in data domain management

  • Good communication skills and detail-oriented approach

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment

  • Experience applying new technologies to business needs in a technologically innovative, change-driven organization

  • Data governance and risk and compliance experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of data integrity management practices and procedures

Job Expectations:
