What you’ll do
Position Title: SAP iXp Intern - Cloud Database Services Developer
Location: Waterloo, ON
Expected start date to end date: September 02, 2025 - December 19, 2025
Work hours: 40 hours per week desired
- Write, enhance, and maintain microservices and tools for a dynamic cloud-native environment
- Develop software using languages such as Go and Python
- Work with the latest cloud technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and hyperscalers such as AWS, Azure and GCP
- Be mentored by experienced software developers who want to see you succeed
Depending on your project you may:
- Contribute to the exploration and design of a large-scale feature
- Implement and utilize API’s to integrate with other services
- Gain experience with cloud monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
What you bring
We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful, innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.
Successful applicants will have an exceptional ability to learn and the motivation to excel in software design, implementation, and testing.
The following qualifications are required:
- Strong programming skills in an industry standard language like C++, Java, Go or Python
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Overall average of at least 80%
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
The following are not required but would be valuable:
- Work experience at a software development company
- Experience working on a cloud software project
- Knowledge of Go, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm
- Experience with hyperscalers, including AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Experience with concurrent programming
- Software design experience
- Significant hobby programming

SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 18.00 - 36.00 CAD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Due to the nature of the role, which involves global interactions with SAP entities, as well as with employees and stakeholders in Canada, functional proficiency in English is required for positions based in the Quebec.
