We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Internal Business Insights Product Owner to drive the strategy and execution of our internal data and analytics products. This crucial role will be instrumental in empowering our internal teams with actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Reporting to the VP of Product Management, you will lead a dedicated business data & analytics squad to enhance our internal data platforms and reporting capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with key internal stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs, translate those needs into clear and well-defined product requirements, and prioritize the product backlog accordingly. 
  • Product Roadmap & Backlog Management: Create, maintain, and prioritise the roadmap for the data engineering squad, ensuring that it reflects the most valuable opportunities and is aligned with the product vision. 
  • Vision and Strategy: Contribution to the vision and strategy for internal business intelligence products alongside the Business Data & Analytics Lead, aligning with overall company objectives and the specific needs of various internal stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Operations, Compliance, Sales). 
  • User Story Definition: Write clear, concise, and testable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria to guide the data engineering team. 
  • Sprint Planning and Execution: Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, providing guidance and making timely decisions to ensure efficient delivery. 
  • Data Governance and Quality: Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and adherence to data governance policies and regulatory requirements within the payments and insurance industries. 
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for internal data products and work with the team to establish monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track performance and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Product Adoption and Training: Drive the adoption of internal data products by developing user documentation, providing training, and communicating the value and benefits to internal stakeholders. 
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics and business intelligence. 
  • Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with the data engineering squad, other product owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders. 

Requirements

  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role, with a strong focus on data and analytics products. 
  • Demonstrable experience working with data warehousing concepts and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). 
  • Strong understanding of data modelling principles and database technologies (e.g., SQL). 
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.    
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.    
  • Proven ability to prioritise effectively curate a roadmap and manage a product backlog. 
  • Familiarity with data governance and compliance requirements. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics) or equivalent experience.
