Job Summary

  • Support AAP Enterprise Data Governance activities, focusing primarily on Independent Carquest locations and providing influence and oversight of the other data domains such as Retail Customer, Product, and Vendor.
  • Define & implement data quality management, including the development of data quality rules for critical data elements based on the selected data quality dimensions and designing the data quality results database, dashboard, integration with Collibra, and the automation of the process. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the Data Governance Organization for the Independent Carquest locations domain, and be a strong advocate for tool usage, integration, and standards.
  • Organizational commitment to ensure ongoing effective communication between all facets of the business regarding the Independent Carquest Customer domain.
  • Establish the roadmap/timing for the development and implementation of the data profiling and data quality processes.
  • Support the documentation of the data quality framework and associated tasks in the data governance playbook.
  • Develop and support the data quality issue management and resolution process.
  • Clear understanding of Customer master data concepts, such as – Merge Customers, Unmerge Customers, Match rules, Survivorship rules, Hierarchies, etc.,
  • Ability to roll up your sleeves and dive into the data analysis using SQL, data quality tools, business intelligence tools, etc., to query the data on the various systems within AAP to determine how to integrate, standardize, and harmonize the data.
  • Ability to document and implement data quality policies, procedures, and standards.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Passionate about data and highly motivated, with a strong work experience in implementing Data Governance and working with business and IT stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; 7-10+ years data analyst with experience in data management; especially data quality, metadata management, master data management, data profiling or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of recent experience in data governance/data quality management, & data governance, along with a data management background.
  • 2+ years’ experience using data profiling and data quality tools in measuring data quality of critical data elements tool
  • Leader within the team to establish the data quality dimensions and build a process to govern them.
  • Ability to support the stewards and data governance groups in prioritizing and determining the remediation method for data quality issues.
  • Experience in reactive and proactive data quality methods.
  • At least 1-year experience in MDM (Master data management) with Reltio or similar product
  • At least 1-year experience using and setting up SharePoint for managing data governance artifacts
  • Strong knowledge in SQL (2+ years)
  • Experience using data profiling/wrangling and data quality tools (Example: IDQ, Trillium, Paxata, Trifacta, Tamlr, etc.)
  • Helps design and implement Data Quality Controls, directs all aspects of data use and requirements across the enterprise and promotes treatment of data and information as critical enterprise assets.
  • Working knowledge using common file formats such as CSV, TEXT, JSON, XML, XSD, etc.
  • Strong problem solving and analytic skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Data quality and data risk management expertise, including understanding of regulations, compliance, standards, methods, processes, tools, and controls to manage enterprise-wide
  • Retail/Wholesale Automotive experience a plus
  • Salesforce.com experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of Collibra is a plus
