Back-end Developer at Determinant AI

Determinant AI empowers game developers to create dynamic and engaging NPCs using AI. Their platform leverages the power of ChatGPT to enable unscripted conversations between players and AI characters, enriching the gaming experience. NPCs can perceive the game environment, react to players, and even perform actions, all without requiring developers to have extensive AI expertise. With a focus on simplicity and ease of use, Determinant AI offers an SDK that allows developers to integrate AI characters into their games with just a few clicks.
We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to lead the development of our AI-powered game development platform's backend API. The platform aims to create AI-driven NPCs (non-player characters) that can interact with game objects and environments in a realistic way.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of the backend API using the Azure API management layer and OpenAI API
• Design and implement a robust and scalable architecture for the platform
• Collaborate with the team to develop a dashboard for customers to monitor and manage their AI agents
• Implement a payment gateway and token-based system for customers to purchase additional tokens
• Develop and integrate a testing framework for evaluating the performance of different AI models
• Work on A/B testing and model evaluation to compare the performance of different AI models
• Collaborate with the team to develop a robust and secure authentication system using OpenID
• Participate in daily meetings and collaborate with the team to ensure smooth project execution
• Lead and mentor junior developers to ensure high-quality code and best practices

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development (APIs, microservices, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with Azure API management layer and OpenAI API
• Strong understanding of AI and machine learning concepts
• Experience with testing frameworks and A/B testing
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience leading and mentoring junior developers

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud hosting and deployment
• Data processing 
• Model inference serving architecture
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
• Familiarity with game development platforms such as Roblox
• Experience with other clouds GCP or AWS
