Principal Software Engineering Manager - CoreAI

Are you passionate about building the next generation of agentic AI experiences? The Azure AI Foundry team within Microsoft CoreAI is on a mission to empower enterprises to design, deploy, and scale cutting-edge Generative AI (GenAI) systems and intelligent agents. 

We're looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering team in AI Foundry Portal, where we’re creating intuitive and powerful agent-building experiences for developers and enterprises. 

What you’ll work on: 
Shape the front-end of our platform that integrates cutting edge large language models (LLMs) from Providers such as OpenAI, Phi, Meta, OSS and build tools that power robust agentic workflows and enterprise automation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience. 
• 5+ years of people management experience and/or experience leading engineering teams, delivering high quality software for customers at scale. 
• Experience in LLM and GenAI Application development. 

 

 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience. 
• Experience with building AI, machine learning related products or platforms. 
• Deep expertise in UI technologies and experience running engineering teams focused on building delightful UI 

 

 

Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
