Software Engineer (GitHub Copilot)

The Opportunity: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Software Engineer to leverage GitHub Copilot and Generative AI capabilities to enhance our client’s software development workflows, improve productivity, and drive innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, experience with AI-powered tools, and a passion for integrating cutting-edge technologies into development processes.

• Work Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Project Duration: 12+ Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Leverage GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, enhance code quality, and support debugging and optimization across multiple languages
• Integrate Generative AI models (e.g., GPT, Codex) into software engineering processes to streamline coding and automate repetitive development tasks
• Collaborate with development teams to identify areas for AI tool integration and productivity enhancements
• Establish and maintain secure, efficient best practices for AI-powered development workflows
• Conduct internal training sessions and workshops on the effective use of GitHub Copilot and related tools
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks for applicability and improvement opportunities
• Monitor performance and usability of AI-assisted development tools, providing feedback for continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with coding standards, security practices, and development guidelines for AI-generated code

Required Skills:

• Strong programming background in Python, JavaScript, Java, and similar languages
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-based development tools
• Understanding of Generative AI models and their application in software engineering
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and collaborative skills
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to peers and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and popular ML frameworks
• Experience mentoring or training developers on emerging technologies
• Awareness of secure coding practices and software compliance standards
