SUMMARY
The Sr Data Modeler is pivotal in ensuring the consistency, accuracy, and reliability of data systems. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data models for the organization. The Sr Data Modeler will partner with business analysts, engineers, architects, and data governance to ensure our data models meet the needs of our business and align with governance requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, maintain, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models in support of initiatives and new data offerings.
Create and document logical and physical data models including data dictionaries, metadata, and entity-relationship diagrams. Modeling scope includes OLTP and OLAP
Drive internal customer needs into meaningful effective data models in collaboration with Data Architects, Developers, and Analysts.
Enforce data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices. Partner with Data Governance when new standards and guidelines are to be developed.
Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Prepare documentation for data models and definitions.
Communicate complex data and data modeling concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Support the design and implementation of database schemas/structures, and database performance tuning/optimization.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business or equivalent work or educational experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with physical/logical data modeling and database design for both relational and non-relational databases required.
Experience modeling for transaction processing and analytics preferred.
Experience in the banking or financial services industry preferred.
Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP preferred.
Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies preferred.
Expert knowledge of data modeling and metadata management tools such as Erwin or ER/Studio preferred.
Knowledge of the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) information architecture preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective data models required.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to document and present data models effectively required.
Pay:
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $120,000 to $145,000. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms. The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a “free time” PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
