Sanofi Global MSAT (Manufacturing Sciences, Analytics, and Technology) acts as a crucial link between our R&D and Manufacturing facilities, playing a vital role in securing the present portfolio and delivering future launches of high-quality and innovative drugs and vaccines. By driving its own transformation, Global MSAT fulfills an important function by providing day-to-day Manufacturing Support, focusing on technical and process aspects, effective Life Cycle Management, process robustness enhancement, and yield improvement to optimize performance.

Under the leadership of MSAT and in partnership with many other functions (Manufacturing 4.0, Digital, M&S, R&D), the Process Data Science & Digital Transformation (DSD) team is a transversal team driving innovations, developments, expansion, and integration within the MSAT day-to-day operational space. We strongly contribute to designing tomorrow’s industrial biological, chemical, and analytical processes bridging from R&D to industrial space.

The Viral and Bacterial (VB) Platform within the DSD organization is dedicated to providing data and analytics support to our process and product experts to improve & optimize M&S process performance to reach CMC and BOI ambitions and to capture meaningful insights and turn them into competitive advantages.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) models for viral and bacterial drug substances, ensuring robustness, scalability, and alignment with manufacturing needs.

  • Integrate domain knowledge in cell fermentation and purification with process analytics to generate insights that are operationally relevant and impactful to process performance.

  • Apply advanced statistical analysis, AI, and ML to interpret complex datasets (e.g., text, time series, spectral, and discrete data) and generate actionable insights.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions that optimize processes and enable proactive problem-solving.

  • Work closely with Data Engineering to build and maintain reliable, compliant ETL pipelines that ensure consistent data access and quality.

  • Take ownership of initiatives with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality outcomes through a proactive and collaborative approach.

  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to diverse audiences, promoting understanding and alignment with business objectives.

  • Drive data integrity and governance across data and modeling activities, with a consistent focus on quality and validation throughout all analytical workflows.

About You

Education and Experience:

  • B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Engineering or Science.

  • 5 years (with B.Sc. or M.Sc.) or 3 years (with Ph.D.) of industrial experience in process analytics and statistical modeling within pharmaceutical or other manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Strong technical expertise in handling PAT data, including spectral data from Raman, NIR, and gas analyzers, with the ability to preprocess, interpret, and model complex metabolic activities of cells for process understanding and control.

  • Proficient in Python and SQL for data modeling, exploratory analysis, and visualization

  • Experience with cloud ecosystems such as AWS and Snowflake, along with familiarity with data analysis tools like JMP, SIMCA, and Dataiku.

  • Proven ability to translate mathematical modeling and data analysis into impactful visualizations and actionable insights.

  • Strong knowledge of data historian systems such as PI Asset Framework and Event Frames.

  • Solid experience in data governance and managing complex data workflows, with attention to data integrity and best practices.

  • Effective in managing project delivery under dynamic conditions with a strong customer-centric approach.

  • Skilled in thriving within team-oriented, fast-paced environments, maintaining adaptability and focus on results.

The salary range for this position is:

$76,200.00 - $127,000.00

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
