Job Description

Responsible for complex modelling calculations and data analysis. Designs, constructs and documents appropriate models across the organisation. Continuously researches and assesses new processes for model development and analytical enhancement.

Old Mutual Finance was established in 2008 to provide unsecured lending products and services to the SA market. The business started with a staff compliment of 34 and has since grown to over 3000 staff with more than 300 branches nationally. Within our branches we offer insurance, lending products as well as servicing. 
 
Old Mutual Finance is currently seeking to hire a OMF Credit Analyst – Portfolio Analytics.  The successful incumbent will report to the Manager: Portfolio Analytics and Forecasting and be responsible for:

  • The development and documentation of forecasting and simulation methodologies to inform business planning.

  • Forecasting of key metrics relating to the OMF portfolio and its operations.

  • Analyse performance across the portfolio to gain insight and provide recommendations.

  • Monitor and prove business effectiveness of policy rules across the credit life-cycle

  •  Produce ad-hoc analysis (where required) to answer business questions.

  • Assist in improving the portfolio narrative as it relates to OMF’s credit function.

  • Timeous and accurate production of reports to track performance and explain variance to business forecasts.

  • Setting targets to align efforts of operational functions with business plan.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in related disciplines: Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science

  • 1-2 years working experience in similar role

  • Proficiency in programming languages like as SQL, R and Python
