ING is looking for an senior expert supporting and steering the Corporate Lending Model Development for ING Group. 

This model development measures risk parametrisation which is key in the decisions for ING Wholesale Banking in the corporate world. Given the nature and complexity of the projects, planning, managing progress, organising decision making and managing alignment throughout the organisation is crucial.

 

The position is within Model Development ING Group, which is an Centre of Expertise in the development and management of Operational Risk,  Trading Risk, Credit Risk, IRRBB and Balance Sheet Risk models.

 

To be successful, the position manages close interactions with different strategic partners and stakeholders throughout the global ING organisation like Tech, Policy and Regulations,  Operations, Front Office, Model Validation, Corporate Audit Services and Retail Credit Risk Model Development, as well with External stakeholders like the ECB.

 

Roles and responsibilities

You have the responsibility that the regulatory Credit Risk models at stake are fit for purpose and measure Risk correctly. In particular you will need to ensure and deliver

  • the development, monitoring and change management of the Corporate Lending models

  • the development, maintenance and change management of the calculations, scripts and templates used

  • support in designing new methodologies and tooling for the WB Credit Risk and input models,

  • the translation of new regulations, market developments, model feedbacks into required model changes

  • advice the organisation on strategic topics concerning regulatory interaction concerning the models, the model use and changes to the models

 

In addition

  • You assist in the implementation and roll-out of the use of the models by developing tooling and templates and by giving trainings and presentations.

  • By regularly requesting feedback ( and setting up structures  and processes to achieve such interaction) from users and stakeholders, you continuously update the backlog.

  • You ensure up to date documentation, scripts, analysis etc , templates, and tools.

  • You are on top of the regulatory agenda, and you resolve internal and external findings.

  • Together with the stakeholders you set the priorities, and delegate work to team members. You monitor and report on the progress with a focus on timeliness and transparency in execution.

  • By coaching the team members, you focus on delivery while helping team members with their development. You make sure quality of deliverables to internal and external stakeholders meets quality standards.

How to succeed

Your backpack must contain

  • An academic degree (MSc or PhD) in econometrics, statistics, mathematics or similar quantitative field

  • Broad knowledge of relevant papers, guidelines, and regulations.

  • Extensive hands on experience with development/management of Basel and IFRS9 models for Corporate Lending and application of ING methodology and monitoring standards

  • Good knowledge of ING Wholesale Banking products and processes

  • Extensive experience with model change notification and obligation closure processes to regulators

  • Experience with recent ECB IMI’s and OSI’s

  • Extensive experience in using data modelling software / or coding (such as C++, Java, Python, R, SAS)

  • Experience in being a sparring partner/advisor to senior management

  • Experience in leading and coaching of (project) teams
