Meet the team:
The Latitude AI Systems Engineering team is responsible for the seamless integration of the entire autonomous system. The team owns autonomous platform service features and functions through the definition of system architectures, requirements, FMEAs, V&V plans, and test cases. Furthermore, we play a critical role in ensuring that this integrated platform, its products, services, and underlying processes comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
What you’ll do:
- Define and own the System Architecture for Latitude’s Onboard Autonomy Services systems (e.g. system mode management, diagnostics) for development and production use cases
- Work closely with multiple product, developers/software, security, and safety teams to develop a solid (efficient and safe) system architecture. This also includes working with the external (Ford) stakeholders for a successful integration of our product with the platform architecture
- Develop system, subsystem, and software requirements, V&V plans, test cases, failure analyses, and performance metrics
- Support commonizing data schemas between systems
- Triage problems and resolve verification gaps across the integrated system to increase robustness and reliability
- Work closely with the testing and triage teams and support root cause analysis
- Cultivate and maintain a healthy, diverse work culture and environment with a strong emphasis on safety
- Be a subject matter expert across various onboard (vehicle) and offboard (cloud) functions
- Develop, mentor and coach others in your area of expertise
- Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by working with cross-functional teams to identify and enhance Latitude processes and procedures
- Support the safety culture by ensuring that safety considerations are integral to decision making within the organization
What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD)
- Full product systems lifecycle experience
- Experience with analysis, verification, or validation of safety relevant systems, preferably in autonomous applications
- Experience performing analyses and requirement formulation that inform decision making
- Experience using scientific methods for trade studies, testing, and problem solving. Familiarity with formal verification is a plus
- Strong desire to learn new skills related to technology and software
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel to remote offices and test facilities as needed
- Ability to balance process with project execution
Nice to have:
- Experience in automotive diagnostics
- Experience with systems built on Linux
- Experience programming in Python or similar
- Experience with Jira or similar ticketing systems
- Experience using Jama or other requirement based management tools
- Familiarity with working in a fast paced environment
- Knowledgeable of FMVSS, SAE, ISO, and other regulatory and technical standards

The expected base salary range for this full-time position in California is $155,360 - $233,040 USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Latitude employees are also eligible to participate in Latitude’s annual bonus programs, equity compensation, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
Candidates for positions with Latitude AI must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
