Are you passionate about knowledge graphs and linked data? Do you want to apply your expertise to implement and enhance a newly established Data Catalog? At Swiss Post, we are integrating diverse data sources into a unified Knowledge Graph to ensure consistent, high-quality metadata across the organization. This role combines the strengths of a developer and a data engineer, working at the forefront of semantic technologies and data integration.
What you can do
− Implement and optimize the data catalog solution using SPARQL, Java, and Python
− Build and optimize data collectors for various sources (Java)
− Enrich and maintain metadata within the Data Catalog
− Implement and monitor data governance policies to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
− Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support their adoption of Linked Data principlesWhat you bring with you
− At least 5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer
− Strong experience across the full ETL pipeline for knowledge graphs: semantic modeling, transformation, enrichment, and ingest into a triplestore.
− Proficient in writing production-grade SPARQL queries
− Advanced programming skills in Java and Python
− Proven experience bringing Knowledge Graph solutions into production environments
− Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (e.g., S3, Step Functions, Lambda Functions) is a plus
− Experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, or SAP HANA (plus)
− Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act as a technical translator for non-technical stakeholders
− Strong analytical thinking to derive insights and support business decision-making
− High attention to detail to ensure data quality and metadata consistency
Education
− University/technical college degree in computer science or comparable.
Language Skills
− English oral and written
− Optional: German oral (and written)
− Willingness to travel
− Hybrid Model: One day a week @office (mandatory).
