Position Title: AI Research Intern

Annual Pay Range: $30- $35 an hour

About the Role

The AI & Research team at iHealth Labs Inc. is seeking a highly motivated AI Research Intern (Engineering) to support research and development initiatives for iHealth Unified Care, our digital health platform for chronic disease management. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in building or researching AI applications, particularly in applied machine learning, healthcare analytics, or natural language processing.


You will work alongside a collaborative team of researchers and engineers focused on advancing AI innovation to enhance patient care. The internship provides an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge work using real-world healthcare data and contribute to research with direct clinical and operational impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and evaluation of AI applications, with a focus on chronic disease care and health outcome optimization

  • Collect, preprocess, and clean healthcare data including vitals, labs, and clinical interactions

  • Build and test prototypes and proof-of-concept models for digital health applications

  • Support dataset development, feature engineering, and model performance evaluation

  • Perform exploratory data analysis and generate insights to inform model development or clinical research

  • Participate in writing technical documentation, visualizations, research reports, and contribute to academic publications or white papers

  • Collaborate with clinicians, engineers, and analysts to align AI solutions with clinical and operational needs

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, data science, or a related technical field (undergraduate or graduate level).

  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in machine learning, data analysis, or AI development, with a portfolio of applied or research-based projects

  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, and SQL

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially when working with real-world, messy data

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to contribute to technical writing and interdisciplinary teamwork

  • Interest in digital health and healthcare AI applications
