Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Head of Data to lead the data transformation journey across finance, operations and sustainability domains at Ignitis Group. This newly established position is based in a holding company with subsidiaries in the Baltics, Poland, and Finland. It requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on execution.
In this role, you will shape the data strategy and define the data governance framework, select and integrate technologies, ensure robust data infrastructure, develop a comprehensive data platform in partnership with the IT data engineering team, assure proper data management and quality, maintain efficient data models and flows for accurate and timely reporting and analytics, business planning and modelling, BI visualizations and AI-driven analytics and insights. You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:
Data Strategy and Governance
- Defining the data strategy and technology stack based on identified gaps & opportunities across finance, operations and sustainability domains
- Establishing clear and effective data governance framework, policies and procedures for data management, including data quality, security and access management, building and maintaining a robust group-wide data security and access management
Tools and Technologies
- Defining requirements and the scope for fit-for purpose data management systems, technologies, tools and solutions, leading the selection, implementation, and integration of new business systems and tools for efficient financial, operational and sustainability data management
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of systems and processes that collect, store, and process data, provide guidance on the best practices for data governance and analytics, including tool selection and integration
- Developing and leading the implementation of data platform and analytics pipeline transformation roadmap as well as executing the vision behind it, which is a unified platform that encompasses all aspects of data management and analytics, integrating data engineering, data warehousing, BI and AI
Data Management and Quality
- Managing data platforms, including data integrations from various sources and tools
- Defining requirements for financial, operational and sustainability data contracts across the Ignitis Group
- Overseeing the collection, storage, and maintenance of data, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data through rigorous quality control measures, implementing processes for data validation and reconciliation
Transformational Leadership
- Working closely with the IT data engineering team to ensure the data infrastructure supports analytical needs and the data architecture aligns with overall technology strategy as well as defining requirements for robust data infrastructure/fit-for-purpose data warehousing platform that supports data integration and analytics through established efficient data pipelines, data processing and orchestration processes, smooth integration of data from various sources into a single cloud-based data warehouse to store and manage large volumes of structured data, making it accessible for analysis and reporting
- Working closely with business departments (such as Group Financial Control and Reporting, FP&A, IR, Strategic Planning, Sustainability) to develop flexible and easily managed integrated data models and data analytics solutions
- Leading a cross-functional team of analytics engineers and data analysts
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of proved experience in senior and leadership roles across data governance, analytics engineering, data analytics, data engineering or related fields, preferably in energy, finance or fast-paced industries
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data analytics, engineering, or related field is preferred
- Deep knowledge of modern analytics engineering and business intelligence practices, tools and technologies
- Hands-on experience in building data models, data pipeline management technologies, ETL processes, and providing data to drive business decisions
- Expertise in data architecture, pipelines, data integration technologies, experience with various analytics technologies and tools from SQL, Python, cloud-based infrastructure, data warehousing and analytics tools (e.g. Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, etc.), reporting and visualization tools (such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, etc.)
- Strong understanding of data governance and compliance, data security and master data management
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to translate business needs into data solutions, collaborative approach with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Fluency in English and Lithuanian
- Strategic and result-driven mindset, leadership and team management skills
