Overview
The Senior Data Platform Analyst works with all levels of the organization to maximize data as a strategic asset. This position supports and maintains data sources from disparate systems in a data lakehouse environment and designs and supports well-structured ETL processes. The role also develops frameworks and processes for keeping data clean and accurate in core systems and works with leaders to create models and visualizations to support the data at hand.

Responsibilities
• Create the structure for data team contributions to the MFA Oil cloud data lakehouse, including design strategy, standards, query processes, and integration of new systems with existing data lakehouse structure
• Design, build, manage, and provide expertise on SQL, Python, scalable data models, pipelines, and well-designed ETL/ELT within our cloud data lakehouse
• Develop, execute, maintain, and troubleshoot complex scripts and reports using SQL, PowerShell, Python, or other data analytics tools
• Design, develop, validate, and deliver data to provide insight into business decisions
• Partner with business users to identify data needs and create reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve or automate processes, or otherwise add value to the organization
• Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources
• Identify and perform root cause analysis of data irregularities and present findings and proposed solutions to leadership
• Advise and assist in design and maintenance of data quality improvement and monitoring processes to enhance the accuracy and completeness of data
• Identify, advocate for and drive adoption of industry best practices, tooling, and processes related to data management
• Drive operational efficiency with innovative data and analytics solutions

Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer sciences, information technology, statistics or other related field; or an Associate’s degree plus related experience
• Two years of experience in reporting, analytics, business intelligence, data modeling/warehousing, or relational databases
• Two years of experience in programming and a strong understanding of data management and business intelligence tools, such as SQL/Python/R and Power BI or Tableau
• Understanding of data mining and data cleansing techniques, data modeling, and data architecture
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Time management skills to meet deadlines and ability to effectively manage competing priorities
• Detail-oriented, with an affinity for processes and workflows
• Great customer service skills including patience with others, and a track record in developing good working relationships while persistent in the pursuit of the goals/objectives
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
• Ability to work and keep on schedule with minimal supervision
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Skills
• Experience as a functional business analyst
• Ability to think outside the box and research solutions to difficult problems
• Ability to set priorities and goals and develop plans for achieving them
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and version control systems and practices (Git preferred)
• Experience in JDEdwards Enterprise One (E1)/DB2
• Experience in testing software and scenario generation
