Senior Software Engineer, Autonomous Vehicles Data Mining

Join the NVIDIA Autonomous Vehicles (AV) team and help shape the future of driving. The environment in our Perception Productization and Operation team is hands-on, passionate about practical results, and values diversity. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of innovative data mining solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, system design and data mining. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that find valuable data across large pools of recorded data from our fleet. Your work will require effective collaboration with diverse international teams, spanning autonomous vehicle research, perception and planning groups, as well as system and cloud infrastructure divisions. Our true motivation and measure of success is building new solutions that achieve widespread use in the world. 

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading and innovating in the development of state-of-the-art data mining systems that process and analyze large volumes of AV data.

• Taking responsibility for the technical design and strategy of data mining solutions.

• Collaborating with product management and engineering departments to understand needs and devise possible solutions, features, and functionalities.

• Mentoring junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and ensuring software quality.

What we need to see:

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience showing both technical depth and breadth.

• MS or higher or equivalent experience in computer engineering, computer science or related engineering disciplines.

• Proven experience leading the technical development of complex software systems.

• Excellent software engineering skills in at least Python or C/C++

• Proven experience with distributed data and computing technologies like Map/Reduce, Spark, PostgreSQL, etc.

• Background in machine learning/artificial intelligence, with knowledge of various ML techniques and their real-world advantages and drawbacks.

• Self-motivated, hands-on mentality and a great teammate.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

• First-hand experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data mining systems for autonomous vehicles.

• Proven full-stack system design experience from frontend to backend, especially for data mining solutions.

• Experience with developing autonomous vehicles in, e.g, perception or planning and control.
