Job Description

We now need a results-driven AI Research Analyst to join our AI Enablement team.

The Technology Division at Success Academy is the chief provider of technology infrastructure, application services, security, and support. The Division partners with teams across the organization to equip students, teachers, leaders, and staff with the innovative technology tools and know-how necessary to achieve academic and operational excellence.

We are seeking a highly technical AI Research Analyst with expertise in artificial intelligence and its applications within K-12 education systems. This role involves evaluating AI technologies, conducting experiments, and assessing their impact on student learning, administrative efficiency, and educational outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in AI/ML, data analytics, and cloud AI tools, with experience in integrating AI solutions with School Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other EdTech platforms. They should be able to translate complex AI advancements into practical, scalable solutions for school districts and policymakers.
 

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in AI research, machine learning, or data science with a focus on education technology.

• Deep understanding of AI’s role in K-12 education, school systems, and instructional technology.

• Strong proficiency in Python, cloud AI tools, and AI/ML model evaluation.

• Experience working with SIS, LMS, and education data standards (eSD, School City Preferred).

• Ability to synthesize AI research into actionable strategies for school leaders and policymakers.

• Knowledge of bias in AI, fairness in algorithms, and ethical AI adoption in education.

• Excellent communication skills—able to present technical AI research to non-technical school administrators.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct deep technical research on AI models, machine learning algorithms, and educational AI applications (e.g., adaptive learning, AI tutors, personalized assessments).

• Analyze LLMs (GPT-4, Gemini, Claude, Llama) and multimodal AI models for integration with K-12 educational tools.

• Evaluate computer vision models for AI-powered grading, attendance tracking, and proctoring solutions.

• Investigate the impact of AI-powered student analytics on early intervention, dropout prevention, and academic success.

• Assess how AI can be integrated into SIS (Renaissance eSD is preferred) and LMS ( Google Classroom).

• Conduct feasibility studies on automating administrative workflows using AI, such as automated transcript analysis, student progress tracking, and curriculum alignment.

• Evaluate AI’s role in IEP (Individualized Education Program) support, special education, and accessibility technologies.

• Research and recommend AI-based solutions for student engagement, behavior monitoring, and teacher workload reduction.

• Develop and test AI models for educational applications, including chatbots, speech-to-text tools, and generative AI-powered lesson planning.

• Benchmark open-source AI models (BERT, T5, Whisper, CLIP, SAM) against commercial AI services for K-12 use cases.

• Perform quantitative analysis and A/B testing to measure AI’s impact on student performance and teacher efficiency.

• Work with synthetic data generation to evaluate AI models while ensuring compliance with FERPA and DOE related compliance requirements.

• Analyze bias in AI algorithms and recommend fairness improvements for AI applications in grading, student assessments, and hiring.

• Ensure AI adoption follows education sector regulations and data privacy laws (FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, ADA compliance).

• Develop ethical AI frameworks for student data usage, predictive analytics, and algorithmic decision-making.

• Develop technical reports, AI research papers, and whitepapers tailored for school administrators, policymakers, and IT leaders.

• Present findings in technical presentations, workshops, and strategy meetings with school district stakeholders.

• Collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, and cloud architects to inform AI development roadmaps.
