Key Responsibilities

1. Designing and implementing data models to manage and analyse data effectively. Work closely with data architects, data analysts, and database administrators to create and manage data systems that support efficient data management and analysis.
2. Understand business requirements, translate them into technical designs, deal with complexities of integration of disparate systems, investigate the quality of the data in those systems and put it all together so it can be accessed, manipulated, and turned into business intelligence.
3. Design conceptual/ logical/ physical entity relationship and/or relational models and multidimensional models for an EDW that implements flexible reporting capability in the context of one or more reporting toolsets.
4. Provide multi-dimensional modelling expertise and leadership by designing data structures to support the growth and improved reporting functionality of the Data Lake/ EDW.
5. Guide the development and maintenance of data standards, policies and practices; Guide the design of the data models, in alignment with the solution architecture.
6. Work closely with database administration, ETL, and BI development staff to optimize overall design at an enterprise level.
7. Major KRAs:
   1. Analyse Business Needs: Understand and translate business requirements into data models.
   2. Develop Data Models: Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support business processes.
   3. Database Design: Design and implement effective database solutions to store and retrieve company data.
   4. Data Migration: Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
   5. Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
   6. Compliance: Ensure that database implementation procedures comply with internal and external regulations.
   7. Data Security: Understanding of authentication and authorization techniques. Developing the model to support data level security.
   8. Documentation: Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
   9. Training and Support: Educate staff members through training and individual support.
   10. Research and Development: Stay updated with new technologies and continuously improve data modelling techniques.
   11. Data Governance: Understanding of the different modelling practices for Enterprise MDM and BI-MDM. Basic understanding of Data quality assessment and metadata management.
       1. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, database management, and programming languages.

Key Skills :

1. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
2. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
3. Experience: Prior experience in data analysis, database design, and data modelling tools.
4. Typical Tools Used:
   1. Data Modelling Tools: ER/Studio, IBM Infosphere Data Architect, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler.
   2. Database Management Systems: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server.
   3. Programming Languages: SQL, Python

• BE/BTech/MCA/MSC IT with 4 to 8 years of experience and equivalent combination of education and experience.
