SUMMARY
Improves Subaru of America's (SOA's) DevOps processes, including but not limited to, requirements gathering, documentation, code generation, and automated test creation. Helps shape the tooling and frameworks used across the Information Technology (IT) department and ensures seamless integration with multiple development teams and third-party resources. Uses hands-on experience working with multiple Large Language Models (LLMs).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning models and statistical solutions to support business objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable cloud-based data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Athena, and related tools.
- Conduct advanced data analysis on structured and unstructured data to generate actionable business insights.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into data science solutions.
- Create clear and engaging visualizations and reports to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Apply data mining, predictive modeling, and segmentation techniques to solve high-value business problems.
- Lead data science projects end-to-end, including planning, development, testing, and delivery.
- Document models, assumptions, and methodologies for transparency and reproducibility.

- Able to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Mentor analysts and developers on analytics best practices, tools, and techniques.
- Contribute to the adoption and application of generative AI solutions using tools like OpenAI API, ChatGPT, or Google Gemini.
- Collaborate with IT to improve data infrastructure and data governance processes.
- Support ad-hoc analytics requests and model updates related to business planning, performance, and dealer network strategies.
- Stay current on emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and data science, and evaluate potential applications.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong foundation in statistics, data modeling, machine learning, and business analytics.
- Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL; experience with data science tools and libraries.
- Demonstrated experience building and deploying data pipelines and models in cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
- Skilled in data visualization (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) with a focus on clarity and actionability.
- Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex concepts in simple terms to a broad audience.
- Experience working with large and complex data sets across multiple systems.
- Strong project ownership mindset with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience with generative AI and open-source LLMs is a plus.
- Prior experience in the automotive industry is preferred but not required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $102,700 – 145,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. (Internal Job Grade: P3T) In addition to competitive salary, Subaru offers an amazing benefits package that includes:
