The Bank has recently made significant investments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including implementing Oracle Analytics Cloud. We are currently in the process of implementing Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) for HCM.
We are seeking a temporary Senior Data Analyst (beginning October 2025-end May 2026) with a track record of applying data science tools and techniques to a range of data types (structured and unstructured), developing effective analytical solutions, and producing high quality data visualisations . This role requires a blend of technical expertise and functional knowledge, to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled through enhancing People data and Insights reporting, supporting a data driven approach to decision making.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the next phase of the development of the People Insights Dashboard. Drawing on multiple sources of employee data, you will build user-friendly visualisations throughout the employee lifecycle, which the People Leadership team will use to define the Bank’s multiyear People Strategy. This will help the Bank better understand where we are doing well and where we could do better, with the aim of making the Bank an even better place to work for all.
This role sits within the People Data and Insights team, which is part of the People Directorate within Central Services. This role requires strong collaboration across the Bank, and you will work closely with colleagues from across the People Directorate and Central Services including from the Enterprise Resource planning (ERP) platform team in Technology, the Data Hub with the Central Optimisation unit, and Data and Analytics Transformation Directorate (DAT).
Responsibilities include:
- Providing SME input into the development of the foundational analytics framework that allows for in depth trend analysis to support informed decision making to enhance the Banks Employee Value Proposition.
- Executing the foundational descriptive and diagnostic analytics with agreed methodologies for analysis, interpretation and reporting.
- Using Oracle data visualisations to present people data and insights in an insightful and user-friendly manner through the creation of workbooks and dashboards.
- Establishing processes for implementing the Bank Wide data quality framework to provide data assurance of accuracy, completeness, and consistency for our people data sets and products with source systems.
- Leveraging FDI subject areas and augment models to meet business requirements and understand the data landscape inputting into People data and insights, including identifying gaps in data.
- Applying good practices for data management and ensuing alignment to governance process and GDPR requirements when handling personal data.
- Providing experienced advice and training to end users of the Oracle data visualisation tool, to help them understand the analytics.
- Supporting the team with the planning and risk management of the broader Data and Insights workstream, for example being the point of contact for users on how to use the tool, advising on what data is readily available and providing demonstrations of the tool’s capability.
Role Requirements
Minimum Criteria
- Demonstrable experience of applying data science tools and techniques to a range of data types (structured, unstructured, financial, etc.) to develop effective analytics solutions.
- Demonstrable experience with data visualisation tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics Cloud, R and Python, with the ability to choose the right chart/graphic that exposes key data insights.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical analysis and results in a straightforward manner to senior management not familiar with the underlaying detail.
Essential Criteria
- Good knowledge of Oracle Fusion data models and underlying data schemas (with a focus on HCM)
- Experience of writing SQL code to support data reconciliation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Highly collaborative with strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to challenge constructively whilst maintaining excellent working relationships with various teams across the Bank.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, whilst delivering on time.
- Ability to work independently and own end to end solution delivery

Desirable Criteria
- Hands on experience with Fusion Data Intelligence either through implementation or as an end user and its data structures
- Experience writing complex reports in BIP and OTBI
- Knowledge of semantic data models within Oracle Analytics Cloud
- Experience of working with Oracle Analytics Cloud implementations for Public Sector Organisations
- Ability to engage with functional and/or technical teams and projects in an Agile environment.
- Awareness of good practices for data architecture and management.
- Practical understanding of techniques for processing and analysing big data and machine learning/artificial intelligence.
- Familiarity with HR data, Employee Value Proposition and the employee lifecycle, or an interest to learn about these concepts
- Familiarity with GDPR data handling requirements and data ethics when handling personal sensitive data.

Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
The salary for this role is, Leeds: £51,860 - £57,780 and London: £57,040 - £64,170. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
- Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
- A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
- An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
- 26 days’ annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.
