Business Intelligence Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Developer with strong expertise in Power BI, PowerOn, DAX, SQL, and SSAS data cubes to join our dynamic retail analytics team. In this role, you will design and develop interactive dashboards, optimize data models, and create efficient reporting solutions that drive strategic decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable insights, ensuring data integrity and performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data cubes, semantic models, and data marts to support reporting and analysis.
• Develop and optimize complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) calculations for advanced analytics and data modeling.
• Work extensively with SQL to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability.
• Create intuitive and visually appealing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security within Power BI reports.
• Implement write-back capabilities to data cubes and SQL tables using tools like PowerOn.
• Develop custom visualizations and calculations to provide actionable insights.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis using SQL, R, and Python.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.
• Understand database architecture concepts, including normalization, indexing, and query optimization.
• Collaborate with database administrators to ensure optimal database performance.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3+Years experience in Business Intelligence development
• Expertise in Power BI, including developing reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Strong understanding of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for advances calculations and data manipulation.
• Strong proficiency in SQL writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing performance.
• Experience working with data cubes, including SSAS or other OLAP technologies.
• Hands on experience with PowerOn for Power BI extensions and enhanced reporting
• Proven experience in data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
• Understanding of database architecture and optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
