Position Summary

Apogee Enterprises is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our growing organization. The Data Analyst is responsible for mining, analyzing, and interpreting data to identify trends and patterns, ultimately leading to data-driven insights and business decisions. They use various tools and techniques to manage databases, perform statistical analysis, and create visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders. They are involved in creating reports and standard operating procedures for data processes, collaborating with other teams, and improving business systems. This position will be focused on taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks from complex datasets. They will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop analytical solutions, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities

Data Collection and Analysis: 

  • Gathering, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources across the Apogee business segments, free external sources/paid subscriptions (APIs) into consolidated dashboards. 
  • Assist in the development and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across datasets
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting an appropriate combination of methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions for stakeholders with an eye on what drives business performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity
  • Analyze data business processes and operations to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Translating data into actionable insights and presenting findings through reports and visualizations identifying trends, variances, and anomalies as well as conducting hypothesis testing and predictive modeling to support business objectives.
  • Provide decision support through ad-hoc analysis and scenario modeling

Data Management and Processes:

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data governance processes configuring, enabling and optimizing data workflows to ensure efficient data processing and analysis
  • Partner with stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
  • Identify and address data quality issues and discrepancies. Ensuring data quality by handling missing values, correcting errors, and removing inconsistencies and enforcing data quality standards.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and maintain focus on their analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers
  • Participate as a member of the Apogee Data Analytics Council, ensuring best practice sharing of skills to meet the organization's needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Supply Chain/Operations or Data Analytics with at least 2 years of experience (in a multi-plant environment preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, mining, evaluation, visualization and project management.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, R), data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI), and statistical software.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, particularly Excel

Job Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex data-related problems. 
  • Attention to detail is crucial for ensuring data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in statistical software and techniques. 
  • Strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems using data. 
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to coordinate between disparate tasks.
  • Good problem-solving skills with knowledge of six-sigma or lean office tools.
  • Experience in the following preferred:
    • ERP systems use and functionality (SAP, Epicor, JDE, D365)
    • Engineering systems use and functionality (Jira, Creo, Windchill, Solumina)
    • Project Management Tools (Asana)
    • MES systems use and functionality

Pay Range

  • $50,000 - $75,000
