TITLE: Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer, Co-op

DURATION: 6-9 months

START DATE: Summer 2025

 POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated Computer Vision and Machine Learning Co-Op to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in developing and applying deep learning models to analyze and interpret complex data from our medical robots. You will be working with synthetic and real-world video data and other multi-modal inputs to invent novel solutions that improve the accuracy, efficiency, and safety of robotic-assisted medical interventions. Responsibilities include design, development, and clinical validation of novel ML algorithms for medical robotic applications.

The ideal candidate will act with passion and intensity in a medical device start-up that is fast paced and collaborative and displays the ability to perform to the requirements outlined below. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the development of innovative AI solutions that improve clinical outcomes within the flexible endoscopy space.
  • Development and management of synthetic datasets and simulation environments with the goal of closing the Sim-to-Reality Gap.
  • Development of tools and techniques for annotation and validation of large real-world medical datasets.
  • Leverage state-of-the-art open-source models for rapid prototyping and early determination of clinical value

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • B.S., M.S in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related field.
  • Relevant coursework in Computer Vision and Deep learning.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with CV and ML tools: OpenCV, PyTorch or TensorFlow, ONNX, and TensorRT.
  • Experience with Simulation tools: Blender, IsaacSim, Mujoco.
  • Strong foundation in traditional computer vision techniques, including image segmentation, feature detection, and optical flow, SLAM and 3D reconstruction.
  • Familiarity with deep learning inference performance profiling and model performance debugging techniques.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Specialization or a minor in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
  • Experience in python-based GPU programming libraries like Nvidia Warp, Taichi, etc.
  • Experience with data engineering (pre-processing, tracking, loading and storage).
  • Experience with model validation and testing - diagnosing failure modalities empirically and heuristically.
  • Proficiency in deep learning inference performance profiling and model performance debugging techniques.
  • Proficiency in C++ and experience in GPGPU programming (CUDA, OpenCL).

Triton Robotics is located in Burlingame, CA, near Millbrae Caltrain and BART Station.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting hourly rate for this role is between $31.00 and $38.00 depending on experience. The actual hpurly rate is dependent upon many factors, such as education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The hourly rate pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for 401(K) with matching.
