Senior Software Developer - (Java/Big Data/Scala)

Overview

As a Senior Software Developer, you will design, develop, and support our Hadoop-based data lake and Spring Boot applications. You will manage software enhancements throughout the development lifecycle and provide post-implementation support, while collaborating with business owners, project managers, and other stakeholders. Additionally, you should be able to work independently and offer backup leadership to the team.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Monitor system, handle project defects, work on support tickets and communicate status to appropriate individuals
• Provide technical support of the applications during and after their implementation
• Respond to questions and inquiries regarding applications.
• Design software solutions that integrate with other systems and follows our technology roadmap.
• Interface with enterprise architecture team for solutions related to our data domains.
• Support development and testing of systems enhancements and maintain a strong working relationship and open communications with full-time and contract staff.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You should apply if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience 
• Minimum 8 years of related Java software development experience required
• Experience with Apache Spark with Scala preferred.
• Experience with Big Data, Distributed Stream processing and Message Broker technologies such as Hadoop, Cloudera, Airflow, HBase, Hive, and Kafka. 
• Experience with Spring Boot & REST web services, XML, JSON.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS
• Experience writing and executing SQL statements for ad-hoc investigation
• Experience with being on an Agile Scrum team
• Data analysis experience and skills preferred
• Experience in healthcare industry preferred
