Location: Office-Based Exton / Hybrid / Home-Based - Pennsylvania

 

Position Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Legal Operations Manager to join our Law and Corporate Advancement (LCA) group within Bentley to drive operational excellence and innovation. Our LCA group comprises of over 115 professionals, encompassing both direct and indirect reporting relationships across global operations. 

 

You will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing a range of functions designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our Legal, Compliance and Government Relations departments. This high-profile position reports directly to our Chief Legal Officer, ensuring that you are well-positioned to influence strategic decisions and drive meaningful change.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

You will be a strategic partner in the effective management and continuous improvement of LCA services to the enterprise, including:

  • Leading efforts to identify and implement new technology solutions while optimizing and managing existing solutions to transform LCA operations, automate processes, and streamline workflows with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • A liaison and strategic advisor between LCA and the Information Technology departments on core business transformation initiatives and technology solutions.
  • Support the development, monitoring and execution of LCA’s annual objectives and long-term strategic planning in a manner that aligns with the enterprise’s strategic priorities.
  • Act as systems administrator for department-level recordkeeping, legal matter management, knowledge management tools, and related solutions.
  • Utilize data analytics to drive informed decision-making and translate metrics into a meaningful story that can be effectively communicated with executive level leadership.
  • Optimize and manage department reporting systems and processes with a focus on data analysis and trend identification for LCA organization.
  • Participate in LCA meetings, including preparation of agendas and decision support materials to promote efficiency and maintain leadership transparency.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and business needs, being proactive in identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.
  • Participate in legal operations associations and organizations to build relationships and a robust understanding of benchmarking and new strategies / models for the delivery of legal services, including public and government affairs facets.
  • Manage and support department-level administrative initiatives / processes, including personnel transitions, training and ensuring collaboration among LCA personnel.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain LCA business continuity plans and strategies.
  • Take a lead role in facilitating and preparing content for department-level events.
  • Regular travel required to our headquarters in Exton, PA.
  • Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).

 

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a corporate, consulting, or law firm environment, including at least 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • Educational Background: A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution is preferred, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, management, or a legal field of study.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and maintain a strategic vision while focusing on day-to-day legal operations and driving results.
  • Project Management: Recognized ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous projects, clients, and responsibilities in a highly visible role with considerable autonomy.
  • Technology Solutions Expertise: Strong experience in identifying, procuring, developing, implementing, and using legal department and corporate technology solutions (e.g., matter management, automation tools, contract lifecycle management, third-party risk tools, etc.).
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven track record in developing, communicating, collaborating, leading change, and effectively pursuing enterprise-level policies, programs, applications, and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Management: Leadership experience in overseeing project or initiative stakeholders to ensure effective execution and maximum efficiency.
  • AI and LLM Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) within a legal operations context, such as contract lifecycle management, document review, legal research, and knowledge management. Experience in evaluating, selecting, and implementing AI/LLM-based tools is highly desirable.
