Data Scientist - Supply Chain Inventory

Role Overview
ABS Global, a Genus company has an exciting opportunity. We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Supply Chain Data Scientist to leverage data science techniques to enhance inventory transparency, optimize supply chain operations, and enable data-driven decision-making. Reporting to the Global S&OP Director, this role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, operations, Product Line and finance, to provide actionable insights and improve end-to-end visibility across the inventory lifecycle.
This role is based in DeForest, WI with hybrid work options.
You Will
- Develop and implement robust data structures and definitions to standardize and organize inventory data across systems.
- Develop and implement data reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and transparency of inventory data across systems and platforms.
- Analyze and interpret large supply chain datasets to identify patterns, discrepancies, and opportunities for inventory optimization.
- Design and deploy automated reporting and dashboard solutions to monitor inventory levels and improve supply chain visibility.
- Collaborate with ABS stakeholders to understand inventory data requirements and deliver analytical models that enhance inventory accuracy and availability.
- Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics to optimize inventory management and reduce stockouts, overstock, and waste.
- Document and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives and operational teams.
- Continuously refine data collection, reconciliation, and analysis methodologies to improve inventory insights and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on advancements in supply chain analytics, inventory management tools, and emerging data science techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or equivalent.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex supply chain datasets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into strategic recommendations.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and supply chain analytics tools is a plus.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, with a focus on improving inventory visibility and operational efficiency.
