Natural Cycles° is a leading women’s health company that developed the world’s first birth control app, used by millions globally. We are a fast growing startup, and we promote an international working environment filled with smart and ambitious colleagues based in Stockholm, Geneva, New York, and remotely. Our mission is to pioneer women’s health through research and passion, empowering every woman with the knowledge she needs to take charge of her health.

As part of the MAD team (Medical Algos and Data) you will help harness all the potential of our data and use it for a variety of different purposes, from developing new algorithms to improve our product, to doing research in the underserved areas of women’s health.

What you will be doing

  • Drive research initiatives to both advance the scientific understanding of menstrual and reproductive health and to continuously assess and validate the performance of Natural Cycles as a medical device, working closely with academic partners and healthcare professionals (HCPs)

  • Develop and maintain algorithms that are central to the functionality of the Natural Cycles app — including those for cycle and fertility predictions, wearable sensor data integration, and personalized user experiences

  • Contribute to scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences and workshops

  • Perform data-driven analysis of user behavior to inform product development and enhance user engagement and outcomes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, medical, engineering, and PR) to translate research findings into user-facing features, product improvements, and public communication efforts that promote scientific literacy, support advocacy in women’s health, and build trust in the Natural Cycles brand

  • Stay up to date with relevant scientific literature and industry trends in digital health, women’s health, and machine learning applications

  • Engage with key external stakeholders, including academic collaborators, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and key opinion leaders (KOLs), to shape research direction and promote scientific impact

What skills and experience we think you have

  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a similarly quantitative field with a strong data analysis component

  • 2+ years of professional experience in Data Science or related roles

  • Strong experience with machine learning techniques, including both supervised and unsupervised methods

  • Proficiency in programming for data analysis, especially with Python and common libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc. Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) is a plus

  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and their application in real-world data

  • Creative and pragmatic problem solver with the ability to focus on technical detail without losing sight of the bigger picture

  • Able to work independently and take full ownership of projects from start to finish

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Collaborative mindset and a strong team player

What we offer

  • Flexible work arrangement - you will be part of a team based in and around Geneva that values effective collaboration and transparent communication, irrespective of work location

  • Modern technology - you will leverage innovative technologies and tools, within an environment that empowers you to contribute ideas and take ownership of your work

  • Impactful projects - you will contribute to groundbreaking projects that redefine industry standards and create tangible value

  • Commitment to quality - you will join a dynamic and progressive organization that prioritizes profitable, long-term product development

Location

We are remote-friendly, but we find great value in being able to connect with our teams in person. Most of the MAD team you will work with is located in Geneva.
