The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Part Time Student - Data Engineer for John Deere World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, you will….

 

  • Develop automation and APIs for enterprise data products and increase data accessibility for our digital products to deliver personalized customer experience.
  • Work as a Scrum Agile team and are excited to bring in your talents to shape the future of Data for John Deere.
  • Spend time in the office based around need, or personal decision of team members.
  • Candidates can be remote or local to Moline, IL. If remote, candidate must be willing to relocate at their own expense if our IT Organization requires work to be conducted within the office. Currently there is no such requirement.

 

This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

What Skills You Need

 

  • 2+ years of software development and coding required with the following:
  • Coding experience in Object Oriented Programming such as JAVA, Python, and/or Javascript
  • Experience in code management with GitHub
  • Experience with CI/CD and tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other tools
  • Pursuing a degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Must be a full-time student at a local accredited college/university.
  • Expected graduation date of December 2026 or later.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Hands on experience in cloud with AWS or Azure
  • Hands on experience creating a 3 tier JAVA webapp API with a backend database
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and writing SQL
  • Hands on experience in DevOps automation using CI/CD tooling

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
