Work you will do

 

Deloitte is growing its Strategy, Risk, and Transaction (SR&T) – Regulatory & Financial Risk practice in Southeast Asia. We provide risk transformation, data and modeling solutions focusing on some of the unique and complex issues our clients are facing in finance. Advise our clients how to optimize compliance programs, standardize processes and transform compliance to protect their value across the business, while building great visibility, efficiency and confidence for the future.

 

You will work alongside our clients to bring a rigorous, evidence based analytical capability to help them solve pressing and complex issues. This includes revealing insight and delivering value through pragmatic and actionable recommendations. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving change, identifying opportunities and develop solutions across the whole organization. 

 

The nature of the work we do includes: 

 

  • Cultivate and manage executive and board-level relationships, positioning the firm as a trusted advisor in financial risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify growth opportunities, strengthen client partnerships, and deliver impactful strategic presentations while providing innovative solutions to complex financial risk and regulatory challenges.
  • Ensure excellence in governance, quality assurance, and operational delivery across all client engagements.
  • Serve as the firm’s subject matter expert on regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel, IFRS9, Liquidity, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk) and industry-driven risk management methodologies, while driving innovation in quantitative modeling, analytics, and governance frameworks to address complex technical and strategic challenges.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across regional and global teams, promoting knowledge exchange, consistent delivery excellence, and thought leadership.
  • Lead large-scale, high-impact projects, managing resources, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful client outcomes.
  • Mentor and develop senior professionals, nurturing a high-performing, future-ready team.
  • Represent the firm as a recognized industry leader, actively engaging in thought leadership activities, speaking engagements, industry forums, and publications.

Requirements

 

  • Possesses a degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Accountancy, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant professional experience in financial services, banking, or consultancy, with deep specialization in financial risk management.
  • Demonstrates extensive expertise in one or multiple risk domains, including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Liquidity Risk, and Climate Risk, as well as relevant regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics and statistical modelling tools such as Python, SAS, and R, with advanced Excel and visualization software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale, complex projects and managing diverse teams across multiple geographies.
  • Demonstrated capability in mentoring senior team members, developing talent, and fostering professional excellence.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills, with high attention to detail and a meticulous work approach.
  • Ability to work efficiently against demanding timelines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with professional fluency in English.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability abilities, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • A high-performing, coachable team player who prioritizes continuous development, puts clients first, and exemplifies a values-driven mindset.
