Ford Pro products and services serve as a foundational building block to Ford’s continued leadership and innovation in fleet/commercial vehicle market segments. In this position... 

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Data Architect and Governance Lead to join Ford's Integrated Services organization. Established in 2023, this innovative team is committed to transforming connected vehicle experiences through the seamless integration of hardware, software, and services. Our success relies on having a robust and reliable data foundation.

 

You will play a key part in shaping our data landscape by defining how we organize, manage, and utilize data throughout the organization. This position is not just technical; it also requires leadership, a combination of strategic thinking, deep technical expertise, and a passion for ensuring our data is accurate, accessible, secure, and compliant. A significant aspect of this role involves bringing hands-on experience in the Fleet Management domain.

 

What you'll do...

  • Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture standards, principles, and patterns, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and specific needs within Fleet Management.
  • Design and implement comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures covering areas like data quality, metadata management, data lineage, data security, and data lifecycle management.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and architectural oversight to data engineering, analytics, and application teams, ensuring their solutions adhere to defined standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to embed data privacy, security controls, and regulatory requirements into data architecture and governance policies and practices.
  • Shape the long-term strategic direction of our data platform by identifying architectural opportunities for innovation, scalability, and efficiency, particularly as it relates to connected vehicle and Fleet Management data.
  • Champion data quality, security, and compliance standards across the organization, acting as a key resource for interpreting and applying policies.
  • Effectively communicate complex architectural designs, governance policies, and technical decisions to diverse stakeholders (technical teams, business units, compliance, vendors).
  • Maintain a deep awareness of industry trends, emerging data technologies (especially in GCP), and evolving regulatory landscapes to inform architectural and governance decisions.
  • Lead technical decisions related to data architecture and governance that drive innovation, resilience, and enable new customer experiences in Fleet Management.
  • Apply extensive expertise in cloud data platforms , data warehousing, SQL, data modeling, and data optimization techniques to architectural design and problem-solving.

 

You'll have... 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field OR a combination of education and experience.
  • 15+ years overall IT experience including progressive IT experience in architecture
  • 10+ years of experience of Data Architecture, and Data Governance, with deep and proven expertise specially within the Fleet Management domain. 
  • Proven technical proficiency with cloud data platforms (GCP/AWS), data warehousing, advanced SQL, and data optimization techniques.

  • Experience collaborating with security and compliance teams and managing data aspects with third-party vendors.
  • Strong understanding of both data-centric and technology architectures.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

This position is a range of salary grades SG5 - SG8
