We are looking to hire a Data Engineer to support our expanding data infrastructure and reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms, data modeling, and automation frameworks, with a focus on both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and the Microsoft Power BI / Fabric ecosystem. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver scalable, maintainable data solutions.

Project Overview:
  Our team is responsible for designing and developing a centralised data engineering platform that consolidates customer, subscription, and revenue data from a wide variety of systems including Snowflake, Cloud SQL, Oracle, Salesforce, and manually uploaded sources like Performance Pulse.
  As part of our initiative, we cleanse, enrich, and transform raw data into a unified, reliable format that powers critical business reporting. This enriched data forms the foundation for Power BI dashboards and reports used by multiple downstream teams including Customer Experience, Marketing, Sales, Product Analytics, and Operations.
  Our platform also integrates with tools like HubSpot, Qualtrics, and Amplitude, enabling seamless data flows between systems. It plays a key role in delivering a cross-functional view of customer and business metrics—driving informed decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization.

Professional Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (GCP/Azure).
• Exposure to SQL, PL/SQL, and Python for data transformation and integration.
• Practical understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data modeling.
• Experience in creating Power BI reports and dashboards for business analytics and stakeholder reporting.
• Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking, communication, and adaptability to evolving technologies.

Qualifications

Mandatory Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL: writing and optimizing sql scripts, procedures, functions, triggers.
• Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience in Python for automation, data integration, and pipeline development.
• Proven experience using Power BI for building reports and dashboards.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, including:
  • Fabric Warehouse.
  • Semantic Models
  • Dataflows (Gen1 & Gen2)
  • Data Pipelines
• Solid understanding of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power BI data modeling principles.
• Exposure to PowerApps for enhancing user workflows.

Optional / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Storage and BigQuery.
• Understanding of Cloud Run and Cloud Functions for deploying services and automations.
• Experience with Google Workflows and Cloud Scheduler for task orchestration.
• Experienced in designing and optimizing ETL workflows for data integration and migration.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and coding standards for managing PL/SQL codebases.
• Working knowledge of Terraform to manage GCP resources using infrastructure as code.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automating deployments and managing database or data platform migrations.

Soft Skills & Collaboration:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration experience with data engineers, analysts, PMs, and other stakeholders.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide team members on best practices and technical standards.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to improving data systems and solving problems.
• Comfortable working in agile teams, balancing individual ownership with team goals.
