Context:

In order to contribute to the Group's objectives for profitable growth and customer satisfaction, the department's mission is to provide M&S organizations with insightful analysis through  digitalisation of M&S end-to-end processes, combined with enhanced data governance, management and data-based capabilities. The department has the following missions:

  • Capture M&S data, analyse it, and transform it into actionable insights for the function and organizations by deploying Marketing & Sales digital products,
  • Define the policy and governance for M&S data in alignment with the strategy and governance of the Group Data Office.
  • Define strategic directions for digitalisation, in line with the strategy and governance of the IT Department,

The department is looking for a Digital Product Manager. The Digital Product Manager reports to the head of the Marketing & Sales Data, digitalisation, insights department . He/she manages a portfolio of products: CRM, Marketing automation tools, automatic quoting and M&S data platform including dashboard development and Self-service BI, with the support of Product Owners.

He/She closely collaborates with the Function data manager and the M&S solutions manager  and contributes to define M&S function strategy in terms of data capabilities (BI dashboards, advanced analytics, AI,..) , its roadmaps and to communicate it to the various stakeholders including : Marketing Senior Vice President, Sales transformation Vice President, Global Business Units & Region Sales Vice President, GBU/ country data officers….

Missions

The different missions relative to the position are:

  • Participate in the definition of the Product Strategy :Works closely with the M&S Solutions Director to refine the strategic vision of the products and defining the roadmap for the different products of the portfolio aligned with Thales sales transformation.
  • Define and drive Initiatives: Identifies initiatives and measurable outcomes (using the OKR methodology) to support the vision and objectives defined with key stakeholder
  • Prioritize and support decision making : Assesses and prioritizes initiatives based on their business impact, technical feasibility, and available resources, in close collaboration with Product Owners.
  • Capture user needs and formalize: In collaboration with the product owner, leads ceremonies (e.g., product demos, user advisory groups, …) of the different user communities (Account Managers, Sales Teams, Sales Operations, Product Line Managers, etc.) to captures and formalize user needs requested evolutions and then deduces new features or enhancement of existing features as epics of the initiatives
  • Contribute  and challenge the Data Model: Provides input and challenges proposed evolutions of the data model, algorithms, or visualizations to ensure alignment with business objectives, user needs, and data quality standards in close collaboration with the Function Data manager.
  • Monitor performance: Defines relevant KPIs to measure product adoption, impact, and overall performance. Regularly monitors these indicators to identify areas for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Advocate Communication and Data Culture: Clearly communicates the value of data products to various stakeholders. Acts as a data spokesperson within the organization, promoting data-driven decision-making and fostering cross-functional alignment.
  • Benchmark Technology : Stays informed of emerging trends and innovations in the data and analytics ecosystem (e.g., cloud technologies, AI/ML, data visualization, data mesh, etc.). Benchmarks against competitor solutions to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.

Competencies and Skills required

To effectively perform the role of the Product Manager, a combination of technical skills and personal qualities is essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of fundamental data science concepts (statistics, machine learning, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data architectures and associated technologies
  • Familiarity with product management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, OKR)
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze data (e.g., SQL, Python, R)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles for designing user interfaces
  • Knowledge of project management and prioritization methods

Personal Qualities:

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to identify opportunities and solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to simplify and explain complex technical concepts
  • Strategic and business-oriented mindset to align data initiatives with company goals

Experience

  • You have an engineering degree and ten years of experience in data science and data visualization, digital product development using agile methods, and user experience.
  • You are fluent in English.
  • Knowledge of sales and/or marketing processes would be a strong differentiator
