About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Risk Manager to join our growing team. This role is pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating financial risks across the business, with a strong emphasis on credit risk, risk analysis, and risk modeling. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience in risk management within the financial sector and a proven track record of developing and maintaining robust risk frameworks.

You will play a critical role in shaping the company’s risk strategy, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and supporting data-driven decision-making through advanced risk modeling techniques. If you are detail-oriented, strategic, and passionate about managing risk to drive business growth responsibly, we would love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Framework Development: Design, implement, and maintain risk management policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Credit Risk Oversight: Assess credit risk exposure by analyzing borrower profiles, repayment behavior, and industry trends. Develop strategies to mitigate credit losses and improve portfolio quality.
  • Risk Analysis & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across business units, products, and processes. Identify emerging risks and recommend actionable mitigation strategies.
  • Risk Modeling: Build, validate, and maintain quantitative models to assess and forecast credit and operational risks. Use statistical tools to simulate scenarios and test the effectiveness of current controls.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local and international risk regulations, including Basel norms and financial reporting standards.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track key risk indicators (KRIs) and develop regular reports for senior management, providing insights into risk trends and proposing strategic interventions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, Compliance, and Product to embed risk awareness into decision-making processes.
  • Audit & Controls: Coordinate internal and external risk audits. Implement corrective actions and ensure continuous improvements in the risk environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, with a strong focus on credit risk and risk modeling.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk assessment tools, risk modeling techniques, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python) used for risk quantification and modeling.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and credit evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
