This position offers a unique educational opportunity for high-potential individuals to come to LBS to participate in the intellectual life of the School. The Researcher role provides an ideal transition for recent graduates who are interested in going on to a top business school PhD programme in finance, economics or accounting. 

The successful candidate will work closely with leading faculty in the Accounting department, learning to provide research assistance, e.g., in the form of data collection and analysis, and will receive mentoring from the faculty with whom they are working. They will be eligible to take one PhD course per term, attend departmental workshops and seminars and access a rich intellectual and cultural campus life. Overall, the position provides excellent preparation for high-level doctoral studies.

Salary:               £39,800 pa inc. according to qualifications and experience

The Accounting group at London Business School (LBS) produces impactful, high quality contemporary research around the timeliness, relevance and quality of financial information, the effects of disclosure and tax regulation, sustainability reporting, and sustainable investment. Qualifications

Applicants should have at minimum an undergraduate degree in accounting, economics or finance or in a related area such as mathematics, statistics or computer science.  Previous experience in a similar role – even as an undergraduate – is an advantage. Some knowledge of programming in, for example, R, Matlab, Python, SAS, Stata etc. is also helpful.

The term of the post is normally two years but in exceptional cases, candidates wishing to participate for only one year will be considered.
