Senior Data Engineer

What You will do:

• Translate stakeholder requirements to potential data science solutions independently.
• Support collaboration efforts with partners across functions.
• Build and deliver presentations and communications that explain critical functions and findings to stakeholders with some guidance.
• Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices and procedures for problem solving.
• Build requirements gathering documentation, needs assessments, development/maintenance of technical documentation for key systems and data assets, and translate customer/business requirements into technical requirements with some guidance.
• Able to contribute to discussions on identifying opportunities in data architecture and movement to enable business opportunities with key stakeholders.

What you will need:

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, data science or related field with applicable data engineering & architecture work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience required.
• Proficient in least one programming language central to Data Engineering (e.g. SQL/Python/Spark) and Competent in object-oriented programming and data structures.

• Ability to manage individual tasks with some guidance and flag project risks as they are identified.
• Proficient in optimizing workflows, pipelines, and algorithms.
• Proficient in cloud-based native tools such as data storage, distributed computing, business intelligence, and infrastructure as code (Power BI, Apache Spark, Azure, GCP, AWS etc.)
• Proficient in ETL/ELT, pipeline creation, orchestration, & data store/warehouse/systems architecture.
• Proficient in implementing/managing Agile/DevOps using GitHub/GitLab for versioning control, and infrastructure as code.

Preferred Qualification:

• Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science or quantitative discipline preferred.
• Demonstrate financial acumen to develop financial impacts for existing projects and evaluating new opportunities.
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication.
• Must be able to manage time, projects, stress and conflict.
• Must have the ability to prioritize work and keep detailed and confidential records.
• Must possess unwavering ethics & integrity in a competitive and demanding work environment.
